—Ideas that Kindle Thought
True to its name, Inkling has published books with close ties to C.S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, including Untangling Tolkien, the first and, as far as I know, still the only book-length chronology of The Lord of the Rings, as well as Theism and Humanism, a book that had a major influence on Lewis' thought.
Inkling also has a growing collection of books by an earlier writer, G. K. Chesterton, who shared much of the spirit of the Inklings, and by William Morris, a nineteenth-century writer who inspired Tolkien and impressed Lewis with his talent as a writer. And like the Oxford Inklings, Inkling Books also has an interest in ethics, history, literature and society. There's even a particular interest in demonstrating how understanding past debates (such as eugenics) can shed light on contemporary issues such as abortion.
